How many people does the Cottage sleep?
The cottage sleeps 2 adults in a king bed.
-
Is there an internet and phone connection?
You can connect to our wifi on arrival, of which the login details will be left in our welcome folder. Our internet connection is good and previous guests have stayed for remote working (though of course we cannot guarantee a good connection at all times).
There is no mobile phone reception in or around the cottage. If your smartphone / network are compatible, you can use WiFi Calling to make and receive calls.
-
Is wood provided for the wood burning stove?
The stove is available for use between October and April, and is for dry, seasoned wood only. There will be complimentary logs and kindling on arrival, enough for one or two nights. If you need more wood, this can be purchased at numerous local stores/petrol stations, or we can provide some at an additional cost.

Are dogs allowed?
We do welcome well behaved dogs. However, please note that due to the size of the cottage, this is restricted to 1 large or 2 smaller dogs in total, and we ask that you do not allow any dogs upstairs or on any furniture.
Please do not leave your dogs unattended at any time. Please pick up after your dogs.
PLEASE NOTE that the property is not fully fenced. The property is mainly fenced with stock proof fencing, but due to the nature of the property we cannot guarantee that this is fully secure at all times. In particular, the lawn in front of the cottage slopes down into the river and the river is not fenced off in any way. You will be responsible for the safety of your pets during your stay.
Dogs should be kept on a lead when out and about near the cottage as we are surrounded by fields with sheep and cattle.
A charge of £35.00 for cleaning costs (to be added to your booking cost and payable in advance) will be applicable to all stays.

Are there any safety issues we should be aware of?
Due to our valley location, the cottage grounds are mostly sloping and uneven. There are also lots of open waterways in the immediate area. Because of this we sadly cannot accept children as guests, and we ask that you take care when exploring the grounds.
The cottage was built in the 1800s and so it has some low ceilings and steep stairs. This, together with the sloping and uneven grounds mentioned above, means that the cottage may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Kindly note that we have a security camera installed which covers the parking area and the driveway leading to that area.
Note that smoking/vaping is not permitted anywhere in the cottage or the grounds.

Can I order a food delivery?
Yes, Tesco, Morrisons and Asda deliver to the village.
We do try our hardest to keep the cottage stocked with some basics to start you off such as tea, coffee, sugar, milk, loo roll, cooking oil, salt & pepper, washing up liquid and so on, but these supplies may only be sufficient for a couple of nights so if you are staying for any length of time, you may need to top up or bring your own. Do feel free to check with us before your stay if you would like to know exactly what is included so that you can plan your shopping!

Anything else we should know?
The cottage is attached to the owners’ house but you’re not overlooked and your privacy is assured.
Like most rural properties, the cottage is not connected to the main sewerage system and instead runs on a septic tank waste system. Full details of what this will mean for your stay will be provided upon arrival.
Smoking/vaping is not permitted in the cottage or on any part of the property (including the garden and outside areas).
